Let’s set the scene:
INT. BOARD ROOM – MIDDAY
A FIGURE is sitting at a large desk in a board room.
A FOLDER with a cv sitting on top.
FIGURE shuffles awkwardly in his seat. We now see his face. This is Nick and this his first interview in 14 years, this is his life.
Yesterday was my first interview in bloody 14 years! And the most terrifying thing about it? Was trying to find a parking spot. Well, I say that but I didn’t really know what to expect. I have heard that interviewers will sometimes ask difficult questions or might ask you to fill out a questionnaire. Thankfully earlier in the year, I had visited the warehouse with a few other people. They were looking to hire a lot of people from my previous job and offered to let people visit to check it out.
So going back wasn’t too scary, I just wasn’t sure what to expect. Thankfully the guy interviewing me recognized me and said something along the lines of “You have 14 years worth of experience, I’d be stupid to not hire you”. And I was offered the job within a few minutes of getting there.
I am incredibly lucky/thankful that I had a long work history behind me. I know it’s not always easy and can be terrifying. I am terrified of going back to work after having 2 months off. I guess I’ll just see how things go, oh also a few guys I worked with at my previous job are working there so there is some sort of familiarity.
I start work in a couple of weeks so I’m spending a lot more time doing things with my family.
Like today I took my daughter to the cinema to watch the Paw Patrol Mighty Pups movie and she loved every second of it. Although that might have been the sugar rush from a slush puppy.
Until next time!
